Resurrection Catholic Church is hard at work preparing for its annual Joyous Junque event which will take place on June 1. The event is essentially a massive yard sale featuring all sorts of products including tools, camping, garden, electrical, fans and lighting, suitcases, golfing equipment, exercise machines, bikes, boating, boats, cars, jet skis, furniture, appliances, mattresses,  lawn furniture and more.

Tents are currently in the process of being set up to accommodate the products. Setting up the sale starts very early in May. On May 13, volunteers started coming on a daily basis to unpack boxes and sort items to appropriate areas inside the lower level of the building. These included antiques, glassware, dishes, office, candles, computers, electronics, appliances, pots and pans, pictures, linens, toys, frames, lamps, crafts and xmas and holiday decorations.

“All year long we have people call to pick up donations,” Joyous Juneque Coordinator Gail Urban said. “Every Tuesday we have a group who goes out and does pickups. They put it on their schedule and come on a Tuesday. Sometimes they’ll bend the rules and go on a different day.”
