A chase on Hardy Road has led to charges for some juveniles.

According to the Virginia State Police, a Bedford County trooper attempted to stop a black Dodge minivan for speeding on Hardy Road at 9:30 a.m. Monday. Police said the vehicle fled the traffic stop and turned into a public boat landing on Hardy Road and several juveniles exited the vehicle.

According to the state police, the minivan then broke through a cable to exit the parking lot and fled on Hardy Road in the direction of Roanoke County. Tire deflation devices were deployed to stop the vehicle, and the juvenile driver was taken into custody and charged. Two other juveniles were charged in connection with the pursuit.

The Virginia State Police seized a handgun and $8,700 in cash.
