A Rocky Mount woman faces charges after a shooting.
On Jan. 7 around 3 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a gunshot wound at a location near the intersection of Bonbrook Mill Road and Wirtz Road. The caller was identified as Kimberly Ann Morgan-Lefever, 45, of Rocky Mount. Deputies determined that an argument occurred between Morgan-Lefever and a 47-year-old man. Morgan-Lefever had fired one round, which struck the man in the hand and grazed his head.
Morgan-Lefever was charged with malicious wounding. The man was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Morgan-Lefever is currently being held in the Western Virginia Regional Jail without bond. The case is under investigation and additional charges may be pending.
