On Friday, the Moneta Smith Mountain Lake Library welcomed a new group to the annual Summer Reading Program line up, the ScienceTellers! ScienceTellers have performers across the country and use storytelling to make science fun and understandable for children. This summer, the story, told by ScienceTeller Carl Martindale, was all about aliens trying to escape from Earth.

Martindale had props such as a rubber green hand, to simulate an alien hand, and a leaf blower and spray bottle, to simulate a storm. He also made sure to be energetic to keep the kids engaged with the story.
