A Rocky Mount man who was arrested on a homicide charge has confessed, according to reports.
Gregory Kendrick, 55, who was staying and caring for Denny Smith, 59, admitted to shooting him in his sleep, according to reports.
Reports also stated that Smith was not able to walk, and that's why Kendrick was staying and helping take care of him.
A Rocky Mount man has been charged with murder following the death of 59 year old Denny Smith.
Gregory Kendrick, 55, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, was charged with 2nd degree murder.
Kendrick was arrested on the scene after deputes showed up to the incident on Virgil Goode Highway, where they found Smith dead in his home from a gunshot wound, according to reports.
Kendrick is currently being held at the Franklin County Jail with no bond, according to reports.
