Three-day SML Charity Home Tour set for this weekend

The Borum residence in Union Hall is one of eight participating homes in the 2019 Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour.

Lake-area residents will open up their homes once again to benefit local charities. The 2019 Smith Mountain Lake Charity Home Tour will be held Friday, Saturday and Sunday with eight homes participating in the event.

“It’s going to be a beautiful fall weekend,” said Sandra Morse, Charity Home Tour executive director. “Come by water, come by land, so there’s lots of different ways to get there.”

Charities that will benefit from the 2019 event include: Adult Care Center, Agape Center, Bedford Pregnancy Center, Tackfully Teamed Riding Academy, Faith Network of Franklin County, Franklin County Family YMCA, Helping Hands of Franklin County

According to Morse, unique features of the tour this year include the chance to see one of the homeowners, Nancy Borum, painting in her art studio. The Borum home is located in Union Hall.
