Moneta Garden Club has announced that it will again present its Golden Trowel Award for excellence in landscaping.
This award honors the efforts of a local business or establishment in the vicinity of Smith Mountain Lake that has made the most significant effort to enhance the natural beauty of this area through promotion of extensive green areas and creative well maintained landscaping designs.
The Moneta Garden Club’s Environmental Committee will travel around the community in search of sites where a business or establishment has made extensive use of green areas and applied creative designs in planting shrubs and flowers. Special attention will be given to year –round maintenance and environmentally-friendly landscaping.
Judging will be completed by September and the award will be presented at the November meeting of the Garden Club.
